- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Make the dough: Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead for 5-7 minutes.
- Let the dough rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat oven: Preheat to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone.
- Shape the dough: Punch down and shape into a circle (12-14 inches).
- Top with sauce: Spread crushed tomatoes, leaving a small border.
